New Wash Tackles Car Queue Headaches

Star Wash opened their first express tunnel car wash in September 2017.  Managing the queue quickly became a headache. There was no way to enter the parking lot except through the pay stations. Star Wash often had monthly plan members who wanted to use the vacs without going through the wash. All these customers wound up in the queue, which presented a time-killer when the wash attendants had to manually remove vehicles from the queue. This occurred every day!

CarPics® Touch was the answer to this problem. CarPics Touch product has “Drag & Drop Queuing” – allowing the attendant to adjust the first four positions of the sale queue by dragging and dropping CarPics pictures or by pressing buttons on the CarPics display. The operator can send the car simply by pressing the picture; extra rollers and device retracts are just a touch away from the picture as well.

Star Wash had a great March – they washed nearly 10,000 vehicles. On especially busy days, CarPics Touch keeps the line moving quickly and efficiently. General Manager John Dunn said, “Busy days are no time to try and manually adjust the queue.”

The Star Wash employees have found CarPics Touch to be very user friendly. The product allows them to keep track of what is going on in the queue and to change the lineup in a matter of seconds.

Star’s customers seem to like CarPics Touch, too. John said, “I would say the biggest benefit for our customers is the same benefit we get from it…a smoother, faster, less stressful line going into the wash and everyone gets the wash they paid for. Customers do like seeing their vehicle and name on the CarPics monitor – it reassures them that they are getting the correct wash.”
